Development of new methodologies for functionalizing glycals and 1,2-cyclopropanated sugars, and applications in the synthesis of inhibitors of enzymes in the Mycobacteria
(2006) Kinfe, Henok Hadgu; Gammon, David W
Tuberculosis (TB) is a contagious respiratory disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Due to lack of an efficient and short-term treatment of TB, the bacterium has become resistant to the first line antibiotics and the disease has ranked next to HIV/AIDS.
