| dc.description.abstract | Lecture notes in Social Issues and Professional Practice in IT & Computing, used in the conversion Masters in IT’s SIPP course (CSC5014Z) and the 1st-year computer science course’s SIPP section of CSC1016S.The course introduces important considerations relating to ethical and professional issues. It introduces students to ethical issues such as property rights, freedom of expression and privacy, and concepts such as free and open source software, ICT for Development, and Professional Codes of Conduct. It also equips students with tools for critical reasoning in order to construct and analyse ICT policy arguments and evaluate the ethical components in ICT case studies. | en_US |
