Abstract
Disconnectors exist in most sub-transmission networks where high voltage equipment is used. The primary function of disconnectors is to electrically isolate equipment from the power system, such as breakers, for maintenance or repair. They are also used to interrupt negligible currents such as capacitive currents associated with unload transmission lines.
