Abstract
The purpose of this research is to quantify where, how much and by what mechanisms water leaves or comes on to the Namibian shelf and secondly to gain a better understanding into the circulation associated with upwelling filaments in the northern Benguela region and quantify their contribution to the exchange across the shelf edge. For the analyses results from a MOM-4 regional ecosystem model are combined with remote sensing and cruise data.
