Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is the further development and formalisation of the biomatrix model as proposed by Jéros and Cloete (1987). It focuses on the formulation and description of the model per se and not its application, and is essentially a conceptual-theoretical study positioned within the broader systems paradigm. The research is conducted within the framework of new paradigm research and the complete model is presented as its central theoretical thesis. The outcome of the research process is the formulation of the biomatrix model into a logically consistent and contextually congruent general systems model: to be viewed as a rigorously defined proposition.
