dc.description.abstractThis video is about early communication development with emphasis on typical language development, early communication skills, typical early sign language development and the role of language in learning. Tara Kuhn states the role of language in learning and highlights the consequences of hearing loss with no intervention. She explains how early intervention and exposing deaf children to language-rich environments allow the development of language base which is used to acquire cognitive skills and promote academic success.
