dc.description.abstractA MEDLINE search ascertained that damage to the eye caused by spring-loaded air guns shooting plastic projectiles has not yet been reported in the literature. A countrywide spate of eye injuries caused a large number of patients to present to our unit. Investigation was conducted into the nature of the injuries, features of the toy guns involved as well as social aspects relating to the injuries.
