| dc.description.abstract | In this introductory video, Dr Brian Watermeyer introduces the theme of this MOOC, starting by discovering the visually-impaired learner. The video discusses the various environments in which visually-impaired children find themselves in and introduces Benedict Leteane who explores his own experiences growing up in South Africa's special education system. He introduces some of the other themes that the MOOC will cover, such as the medical aspect of visual impairment, and how to design inclusive classrooms that provide an interesting and accessible learning environment for visually-impaired learners. | en_US |
