The scope of this study extends to experimental tests of plates subjected to blast loads with the intention of measuring the velocity of fragments and the subsequent modelling of the plates. A comparison of the results of the numerical and experimental results must be undertaken. An energy balance of the fractured plates must be undertaken with the aim of determining the energy of tearing.en_ZA
