dc.description.abstract | Chaotic systems may be defined as those whose behaviour is sensitively dependent on initial conditions. Such systems may be made periodic using small input perturbations, as proposed in [OGY90]; this is called Ott-Grebogi-Yorke (OGY) chaos control. The original method used a linear model for controller design; a later development of chaos control was [CCdF99], in which a polynomial model is used. This dissertation proposes using local Taylor polynomial models as a basis for chaos control. | en_ZA |
