Domestic violence research and interventions have aimed to empower abused women; however, there remains a gap in research on men’s accounts of their violence and of the programmes they attend. Because research shows mixed results concerning the effectiveness of domestic violence perpetrator programmes, this lack of clarity may impede efforts to rehabilitate violent men. This study investigated the discourses which men drew upon when talking about their experiences of attending a particular domestic violence programme in Cape Town, South Africa.en_ZA
