dc.description.abstractIn this thesis, a deep neutral hydrogen (HI) galaxy search for galaxies hidden by the Galactic Bulge is presented. The HI Parkes deep HI Zone of Avoidance (ZOA) survey has been extended towards the higher latitudes in the Galactic Bulge region. The surveyed region covers 332° ≤ l ≤ 36° for the region 5° ≤ │b│ ≤ 10° and 352° ≤ l ≤ 24° for the region 10° ≤ │b│ ≤ 15°.en_ZA
