The aim of this mini-dissertation was to assess whether sexual coercion at first sex predicts risk behaviours in a sample of school going adolescents by reviewing existing literature and examining a study of youth in Cape Town, South Africa. ... The systematic review appraised literature which aimed to assess the influence of sexual coercion on risk behaviours. The selection criteria included quantitative observational studies and studies with subjects that were sexually active males and females between 10 and 25 years of age. ... A secondary statistical analysis of data from the SATZ project was carried out to further assess the extent to which coercion at first sex predicts; sexual risk behaviour, experience or perpetration of physical abuse and substance use.en_ZA
