The same procedure as in Brandão et al. (2011) to obtain overall annual rates of increase in number of confiscations (plus abandonments) and in policing effort is repeated in this paper but with the data disaggregated by super-area. These disaggregated data are reported in the Appendix. The number of confiscations allocated to Super-area 1+2 are very sparse rendering the result from the GLM analyses meaningless. Some of the policing indices for this Super-area also had too few data and could not be sensibly be included in the GLM. Given these problems, no results are presented for this region.
