The 1940's saw tremendous change in the state of the world starting with the Second World War and culminating with the formation of several new independent nation states such as Pakistan, India and Israel. The growing nationalist trend became more apparent over the following decades as African states gained their independence from their European colonizers. The ravaged state of the world recovering from War also saw the formation of an international mediating body in the form of the United Nations Organisation. The world was consequently repositioning itself in political and social terms to deal with the implementation of these changesen_ZA
