At the beginning of this year, my initial concept lay in understanding the influence of hybridisation on contemporary urban society and how this, in turn, affects and changes places within the city. I find this subject interesting as I personally feel influenced by the hybridisation of global and local conditions. As technology advances, knowledge is progressively more accessible, global trends become local realities, and how we identify with our local surroundings is changing. Youth culture generally tends to be more accepting toward change and trends, and is therefore noticeably affected by it.' As I see changes in myself and my peers, I am interested to understand how these changes subsequently affect my fields of interest: the city and architecture.en_ZA
