The statistical modelling of water pipelines failure has been widely adopted by water authorities in their pursuit to proactively manage their aging water distribution systems. In this thesis failures of the 100 mm FC pipes in Cape Town City have been modelled by using survival analysis techniques. Estimates of the Mean Cumulative Function (MCF) have been used to predict the failure rates of pipes in the network.en_ZA
