Research was carried out at the Walvis Bay/Swakopmund nursery during four visits between Aug/Sep and May/Jun 2000. The study aimed to quantify seasonal and tidal patterns of habitat use and responses to changes in prey abundance, and to investigate whether nurseries provide favourable foraging conditions and high energetic returns for juvenile oystercatchers.en_ZA
