This document consolidates a series of papers developed during 2008 to inform the MCM Pelagic Working Group on the possible implications for future trends in penguin numbers at the Robben and Dassen Island colonies of reducing future TAC for sardine and anchovy. It details the penguin population model used and how this was fitted to available data on penguin abundance, as well as the inclusion of terms describing the effects of changing sardine and anchovy abundance on penguin reproduction and survival rates. This penguin model is projected forward under the scenarios for future sardine and anchovy abundance trajectories that were used in developing the current sardine-anchovy OMP, and variants of that OMP which involve further reductions in TACs at low sardine and anchovy abundance levels. An appendix lists all the data taken into account in these analyses.en_ZA
