dc.description.abstractThe objective of this project is to examine electricity use in newly-electrified, poor urban settlements in the Western Cape, by monitoring and analysing household energy-consumption data and relevant socio-economic information. An important aim is to understand factors which affect the movement from multiple fuel use to greater electricity consumption. The intention is also to provide useful information for electrification planners.
