dc.description.abstractPsychophysiological research has shown that high physiological arousal in the autonomic and somatic nervous system is associated with emotionality, e.g. anxiety. It was the aim of the present research to investigate the use of a deep breathing technique which would be easily amenable to voluntary control, in order to train subjects to lower their level of physiological arousal.en_ZA
