This research is focused on an ambivalently attached girl who presented with adversarial and tyrannical behaviour. To understand her dynamics a self psychology lens was used as well as attachment theory. A qualitative method was used in this research which focuses on a single case study. To avoid the effects of subjectivity the illustrative material was discussed during supervision with both clinical supervision and research supervisor. The research ends with a discussion about the findings and how therapy has helped Jane to overcome her fears.en_ZA
