dc.description.abstractAlthough Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) Adaptation Layer type 2 (AAL2) has been in existence for a few short years, it is widely being adopted as the technology of choice in VoDSL. VOTA trunking, as well as in UMTS wireless networks. The two most important concerns when transporting voice in a packet based network, are end-to-end delay and the efficient use of available bandwidth.en_ZA
