Towards identifying some problems of History teaching in South Africa and suggesting in general terms a methodology to help solve the problems. CHAPTER 2 Education. Theatre and Drama. A. Towards the author's definition of child-centred education, based on the writings of eminent philosophers. B. Theatre's relationship with educational drama, given that the two modes of communication share many elements relevant also to history education. C. The links between educational drama and the author's definition of education in A above. CHAPTER 3 The Aims of Drama in Education with Reference to Goals. Special aims which single out Dorothy Heathcote from other practitioners; emphasising the Left Hand of Knowing and aiming for authenticity in teaching, which includes the concept of drama as a social art. This concept emphasises the bondings between people, particularly between child and society. Links between Drama in Education a1ms and those of a new history methodology (Chapter 1) will be. discussed.en_ZA
