M methods are applied to compliance data for confiscations (and abandonments) and for policing effort to estimate recent trends in the amount of abalone that is poached. The results suggest that poaching remains high for Zones A-D but has decreased over the last two years for Zones E-G; nevertheless the estimated poaching levels are well above the target for the recovery plan.en_ZA
