    Guide for tutors in disciplines in the Humanities and Social Sciences

    Guide identifying important areas of theory and practice around tutoring in small to medium groups (up to 30 members). This workbook should be useful for students in all faculties and at all levels, from undergraduate to postgraduate. Covering essays through to thesis writing, the handbook offers tips to improve written assignments. Students can read through the handbook on their own, and refer to it while they are writing. Alternatively chapters can be run by instructors as workshops. Each session will last approximately 45 mins to 1 hour. Instructors can walk through the material with their students, or create powerpoint slides and use the material in a presentation. There are also a number of worksheets where students can engage with and practice the skills. They can do this during the workshop, on their own or in pairs.
