At the March 2014 Small Pelagics Working Group meeting it was agreed that the most appropriate wayforward in terms of management of the sardine and anchovy pelagic fishery would be to finalise an Operational Management Procedure (OMP) as soon as possible, based on an extension to Interim OMP- 13 v3. The development of a new OMP would then be brought forward from the routine 4-5 year timeframe for updates, to begin likely early 2015 based on data up to the end of 2014.
