Abstract
This paper reports estimates of management quantities for the updated Reference Set for thehake resource, now fitted to two further years of hake abundance indices, as specified at the last meeting of the Demersal Working Group. Estimates for two major variants of the assumptions for this Set are also reported. The empirical OMP introduced earlier is retuned for various M. paradoxus recovery levels under differing inter-annual TAC constraints. Performance statistics for the resultant OMP candidates are reported for both the updated Reference Set and the two major robustness tests. Effort projections indicate a reduction of at least one third in the average annual effort applied over the past some five years likely to be needed to secure resource recovery. Suggestions are made for the next steps in the process of finalising a OMP selection.
